IPL 2026 MI Squad: Five-time champions Mumbai Indians entered the 2026 Indian Premier League auction on Tuesday without any pressure. They already possess a strong and well-balanced team.

Before the auction, Mumbai had only ₹2.75 crore (approximately US$2.75 million) remaining in their purse, the lowest among all ten clubs. However, the team still needed to fill five slots, including one overseas player. Despite the limited budget, Mumbai Indians employed a shrewd strategy. Their biggest signing was the acquisition of South African wicketkeeper-batsman Quinton de Kock. He was bought for a base price of just ₹1 crore (approximately US$1 million), a significant bargain.
Mumbai then added four uncapped Indian domestic players. They included Danish Malwar, Mohammed Izhar, Atharva Ankolekar, and Mayank Rawat. The base price was ₹30 lakh each (approximately US$300,000). This further demonstrates their ability to strengthen their squad at a low cost.
